Kane is nearing the finish line with rehabilitation! When we rescued him nearly 5 months ago, both bones in his front left leg were broken in two. Super foster mom Beth Hayes has been determined to help this boy heal so he can get a home of his own. Scared and in pain from being hit by a car, we took him in from the Lee County shelter and had the vet remove a very painful cracked tooth. The x-rays showed a very damaged leg and amputation was a possibility. But surgery, lots of splints, lots of wrapping and re-wrapping, and several chewed-threw cones and splints later, Kane is in his final few weeks of splint-less wrapping. He has come out of his shell and developed into a wonderful and friendly dog with a Labrador Retriever personality. He gets along with other dogs and one of his best friends is a cat. He is an awesome canine companion! Contact us if you’d like more information about adopting Kane.
