Howdy! I’m Gabe, the little beagle. Animal Control found me wandering around Lee County, NC and took me into the shelter. I was in poor shape; my teeth were infected, I had an injury to one eye, and my coat was a mess.
Lots of people rallied around me to make me better. After a brief stay at the vet, I am now neutered, my teeth are all better, my coat and skin are clearing, and I feel better! The vet said I was between five and six years old and weigh 27 LB. I am blind in my left eye, but that doesn’t slow me down. True to my beagle nature, I love to sniff, run, and play. Can you believe I am a hound that plays fetch with tennis balls?
Of course, I am older and like naps, too! My foster mom trained me to enjoy being in my crate and chewing on Nyla bones. I love people and kids as well as the company of other dogs. I ignore cats, and they ignore me.
My foster mom says I have a laid back personality and that I am so very sweet. I am learning how to walk on a leash and my foster mom has worked hard to make sure I am house-trained. I am up-to-date on all my vaccinations and heart-worm preventative.
